Responses that completely destroy the original argument in a way that leaves little to no room for reply - a targeted, well-placed response to another person, organization, or group of people.

The following things are not grounds for murder:

Rules:

  1. Be civil and remember the human. No name calling or insults. Swearing in general is fine, but not to insult someone else.
  2. Discussion is encouraged but arguments are not. Don’t be aggressive and don’t argue for arguments sake.
  3. No bigotry of any kind.
  4. Censor the person info of anyone not in the public eye.
  5. If you break the rules you’ll get one warning before you’re banned.
  6. Enjoy the community in the light hearted way it’s intended.

why waste taxpayer dollars

Translation: They offered me the gig with no pay and I was too much of a pussy to negotiate or just, y'know, say no.

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

He could be promised the moon and the stars, and it's not like The Idiot would pay.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 61 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Hold up... He didn't even get paid? Even Judas took the fucking silver.

[–] ALiteralCabbage@feddit.uk 3 points 3 weeks ago

Judas wasted taxpayer silver. SAD that hardworking Romans had to pay out to get a JUDEAN TROUBLEMAKER put to justice.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 34 points 3 weeks ago

Lol not getting paid and losing audience. Art of the Deal indeed.

Dubstep artists go straight to the gulag

[Some person is getting devastating flak from industry peers for association with Trump]
[...while also getting screwed by Trump]

Begun, the second Trump administration has.

[–] Hux@lemmy.ml 134 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

Trump received over $170 million in inaugural donations, primarily from companies and the extremely wealthy.

Yet, this artist didn’t get paid?

And the artist believes they were saving “tax payer dollars”?

And the artist seems to be catching blowback from his industry for the association?

This seems like the standard playbook for “working for Trump”, just in a 30-minute DJ-set format…

I would be personally shocked if most of the funds weren't embezzled

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 7 points 3 weeks ago

I mean this is the orange idiot we're talking about. He wouldn't have paid this guy regardless.

Do conservatives listen to hard techno, progressive house, dubstep, or other electronica genres? Do they go to massives and drop e?

Does Lauren Boebert listen's to Sophie's Faceshopping while jogging on a treadmill?

Perhaps conservatives do consume lots of electronic music?

[–] squid_slime@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago

RIP Sophie.

Have you seen the recent demographics for Burning Man?

[–] secretlyaddictedtolinux@lemmy.world 25 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

I haven't. Please enlighten me. Has the underground been stolen by "bohemian" tech bros who want neo-feudalism?

I'm not cool enough to attend burning ban.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 35 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, Burning Man used to be a like, art and tech DIY punk thing. These days, it's a music fest for tech bros and insta influencers.

[–] underisk@lemmy.ml 25 points 4 weeks ago

I once got into an argument on this platform with people defending the average salary at burning man being six figures. They tried to tell me that it didn’t qualify as wealthy because I wasn’t considering that they probably worked in an area with a high cost of living and that probably didn’t leave them with much more disposable income than the people making five figures. I guess annually dumping over 5k on a drug trip vacation where you pretend to be a hippy for a weekend is something even the poor can afford.

Never heard of 3Lau and I'm not going to bother to look up what is probably shitty music to give him what he wants. But this is how morons get famous through angertainment. As they say, bad press is good press.

The songs of his that I have in my rotation are:

  • On My Mind (with Yeah Boy)
  • How You Love Me (with Bright Lights)
  • Tokyo (with XIRA)
  • Hot Water (with Audien and Victoria Zero)

I guess I only like his music when he's tempered with a collaborator.

I doubt this news will change my listening habits, but it does provide more evidence I should buy and save my music instead of streaming it, so I can avoid further funding my political opposition while still appreciating their art.

[–] 3dmvr@lemm.ee 2 points 3 weeks ago

I had like 4 remixes from years ago that arent in rotation.

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 6 points 4 weeks ago

You do you.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 9 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago) (1 children)

I have never heard of any of those songs, and I listen to a lot of electronic music.

Here's my "Most Listened": https://tidal.com/browse/mix/0103819481f54a12baf1975913b319 I'd be glad to hear some of your suggestions, but I think we might have different taste, even among EDM.
