I recently came across a website cataloguing the sex/violent crimes of trans and gender nonconforming people.
anti trans fanaticism and bigotry; no details/quotes included but a very vile vibe
It's really, really horrific. Not a mainstream website itself but it does link to all kinds of mainstream media reports using all kinds of language. There is a lot of gloating about how news outlets tried to use correct nomenclature but "backlash" so walked it back. And the website is so... long. Clearly very labor intensive to compile and looked like consistent work for a long time. Of course if these data points were to be viewed in context of all crime, or all trans people, they wouldn't look significant, but as a giant pile of anecdotes seemingly substantiated by mainstream reporting could be compelling. And it is people's full dead/current names, photos, whereabouts, biographical details. Such nasty language with violent, inciting tone. They are of course always confused about what to do about trans men. It seems they are upset that media refer to trans men as women and deadname them, compared to what they perceive as excessively respectful treatment of trans women. I guess they feel some conflict about trans men still being subjected to patriarchy. It seemed they were doing that thing where pronouns are avoided entirely vs the gratuitous misgendering when writing about women. On the one hand, don't want to acknowledge them as men. On the other hand, don't want to make it look like women could be doing such violence, and it would defeat the point of the website. They don't want trans women in women's prisons but also object to trans men in men's facilities. The impression is more like they've created an alternative gender/pronoun of CRIMINAL/DEVIANT to assign people and they shouldn't go anywhere. Very scary all around.
