Can you recommend me a starting point? For someone who has no experience with these games, or any Japanese games besides Soulsgames and RE4 remake.

Yakuza 0, kiwami, kiwami 2, Yakuza 3, 4, 5, 6, then 7, then Gaiden, then 8.

Then play Jusgement and Lost Judgement. Not part of Yakuza's core canon. But adjacent.
