To be fair the 4 weeks thing is a one-time issue, once you're done with that Lemm.ee is pretty good. Good admins, and indeed nice to have a more unfiltered view
No problem mate! Lazysoci.al was just the random instance I picked when I joined [email protected] is a lazysocial instance so when I set up this account rather than CheeseToastie, I went for lazysoci.al. Lemmyworld I set up so I could access other instances but I cant remember which one. I just checked and I can access hilariouschaos stuff from both my lemmyworld and lazysoci.al accounts.
Hope that helps!
Great good luck 👍
You can use this list and sort by Active users to have an idea of the servers with the most users: https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/list
Out of that list, https://lemmy.today/instances is know for having an empty blocked instances list, so they don't defederate anyone.
In the other direction, you can use a tool such as https://defed.xyz/check?name=lemm.ee&software=lemmy (https://defed.xyz/check?name=lemmy.today&software=lemmy) to see which instances defederate a certain instance.
Maybe https://lemmy.zip/ ?
They have good reputation, regular reports on [email protected], very short defederation list: https://lemmy.zip/instances
Mander.xyz is a good instance that federate all other instances while having good moderation, its dedicated to nature and science
You're welcome to make an account on crazypeople.online. The sidebar should tell you all you need to know. If it turns out it's not your thing you can always try another instance.
No worries mate. I hope you find the right space for you.
Glad to hear! Hopefully in a few weeks you'll be all set!
It's okay!
Hello @[email protected], have you all every considered reducing the avatar upload timeframe to 2 weeks instead of 4?
We'll get some more control over images when 1.0 comes, I will take a look at it again then, but in general the new user cooldown for image uploads has really significantly reduced the amount of image related abuse we have seen.
@[email protected] please understand, nobody on our admin team is getting paid to moderate disgusting images, they are volunteering to do it, and it takes a mental toll. Also, image hosting itself is not free. Our donations right now are barely breaking even with server costs. So realistically, our options are not "current situation vs fully unrestricted image uploads", they are "current situation vs completely burned out admin team and costs increasing beyond donations".
Thank you for the answer!
