I strongly doubt that. The average voter does not care about trans issues one way or the other. Democrat politicians wanna ditch trans people because they're an easy minority to throw under the bus, but there is not actually anyone for whom this is a deciding issue. A massive Democrat win might coincide with them being hostile to trans people because Trump 2.0 is the worst thing ever, but it's not gonna be responsible for it.
The voters may not care as much but the media sure as fuck does. And the Democrats are slowly drifting towards the same direction UK Labour did not too long ago, where they could decide that being passive on this issue and constantly having to answer to transphobic rhetoric makes them look weak in the eyes of the voter, and instead take a more active approach against us.
Of course the situation in the US is not exactly the same as in the UK, but judging by the reactions a lot of Democrats had immediately after the election, it’s fair to say that there is a sizable block within the party that is willing to pull a Starmer.
Edit: And while voters may not care directly about us, they certainly are fed up with it being constantly talked about and just want this "issue" to be resolved (with Democrats kneecapping us being the easiest, most straight-forward way to make themselves appear to be strong, level-headed realists).
The voters kind of do care though. I cannot count how many times random mentions of “alphabet people,” “wokeness going too far,” “trying to make men do womens sports,” and “they’re brainwashing the children” has come up from people who hate Trump and MAGA but think the Dems have gone too far with trans rights. I’ve heard this said from people who claimed to be apolitical. It’s kind of like how people claim not to have too strong of an opinion on immigration but you just need to be a minority that the immigrant group tends to consist of and you’ll find out just how quickly the average voter actually cares.
i think it's mainly because we're the smallest minority they represent and they're absolutely not going to campaign on a pro-labor working class agenda. throwing us under the bus won't win them shit but it's easy and the consultant class will get another round of checks from it.
Billionaires

true, true. smallest -marginalized- minority they claim to represent would be most accurate i guess
