Pedalos are a highly efficient vehicle which is used as the primary mode of transport in Germany. These lead to the building of the famous autobahn specifically to accommodate the abundance of these efficient and streamlined vehicles which cars are unable to compete with due to limitations in modern technology. Despite over 97% of all transport conducted by Germans is via pedalos, they have banned export and preform covert international sabotage on anyone attempting to replicate the technology.

I'm taking this at face value

Just came home from a long workday. The A8 was sperred again since ze pedalobahn was blocked by some car drivers from Belgium. Luckily my pedalo is very wendig and schnell, so I could easily reroute.

They're a German invention and well known here. There are several variations, they're usually a kind of sport/balance toy for kids and teens - but there are also some for medical uses. You can find some variants in pictures here: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedalo_(Spielger%C3%A4t)

They're also a recurring German meme, although I don't really know why. The Wikipedia link above mentions them, but only says that it started with an image of a guy on Pedalos with the caption "Bruder muss los" (Bro needs to go) referencing a situation that you want to get out of, but have only inconvenient methods to leave.

Thanks. I'm slightly less confused now
