The owner of an Idaho bar and restaurant plans to host a two-day “Hetero Awesome Fest” outside of the state Capitol in Boise in June to coincide with LGBTQ Pride Month.

Sounds fine. You do you and such!

“This festival is more than just an event,” a voiceover on the video said. “It’s a declaration that faith, family and freedom are worth protecting.”

Okay, starting to get a bit weird. Family I get, but faith and freedom? Weeird.

Our event is not about targeting any group but about raising awareness of practices we find troubling, such as the encouragement of 'gender transitions' among children or their exposure to inappropriate content."

Ah, there it is. Not just weird, but also insane.

Fitzpatrick has said on social media that Pride Month exists “so LGBTQ can march down the street doing disgusting and criminal activities while demanding to be celebrated” and that the community “encourages children to cut off their sex organs.”

With how much this guy thinks about children's genitals, I would not be surprised if he's outed as a pedophile in a few years.

Ah, there it is. It's pretty sad that I just knew from the moment I saw this headline that it would be more about bashing queer people than celebrating straight people. I actually commented about this in another thread earlier saying that I think if people need an excuse to celebrate and be merry that's great, but I hope it's not just a bigot parade. But even while I typed that, I knew that it was wishful thinking.

It's like all these people have is hate. Nothing else. Everything revolves around hatred. Can't feel good about themselves without tearing someone else down. It's not a "hetero awesome fest", it's just a "gay people must die fest." How surprising /s
