Because correctly realizing that liberals are at fault and have been fascist goons would require the self crit that would also reflect on their continued support from the person (who is also likely a lib) performing it.
And because it is simpler; it's just a slightly more nuanced version of the 'voter fraud' conservatives cry about every time they lose.
that implies intention but i know that liberals don't like spending time thinking about it.
