Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

And you say it never happens in ml but always on world? I'm a bit confused here, because I've seen exactly those kinds of comments over there.

Not as much as on reddit, way less, but still, I didn't just imagine it but observed it more than once.

I'm not arguing that mods wouldn't remove it, they did here as well, but it's happening with their users frequently enough that I noticed.

Hasn't happened to me yet doesn't mean never, and it's certainly not always from world, I can direct you to the /c/transgender mod log if you're really interested

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm actually very interested. I'm curios how Lemmy moderators compare to other sites that I had the pleasure of getting a look behind the curtain.

If you edit your original comment misgendering me I'll consider it.

Frankly this far into the exchange I shouldn't have to ask

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I would but I can't find it anymore. I guess it was removed or I'm blind.

For the record, I was asking for a citation for where in my comment history have I been supporting Trump, not looking to get psychoanalyzed.

Not sure I buy the Jung stuff, just seems a little Jordan Peterson at this point. It just feels like basic life advise wrapped up with some mysticism.

Anyway I maintain that my impact on the election is zero because it's not like you guys listen to me and I'm not in a swing state so my vote is literally worthless. I'm just expressing disappointment in the party which acts like it wants to represent me, because it doesn't.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

You asked for a citation to troll me, I gave you a citation.

Yeah I got lucky that someone said it before me and it also was one of the founders of modern psychology.

I don't care about Jung, I expect us to have become better at psychology at this point.

Edit: A citation on you supporting trump? I never claimed you did deliberately. I said you're putting a lot of energy into denouncing Democrats but not republicans, arguing you do it because of their injustice towards you, but somehow ignoring the real danger against you.

It doesn't necessarily make you a trump supporter, but it definitely helps the people that want to hurt you most.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I asked for a citation because I am confident that if you looked through my posting history you're not going to find me supporting anything other than radical wealth and property redistribution.

It doesn’t necessarily make you a trump supporter, but it definitely helps the people that want to hurt you most.

Please understand that this is part of why I'm so annoyed. From my perspective the Democrats are/have been actively sabotaging themselves by fumbling major issues like Palestine and I'm trying to voice that concern and constantly being told that I'm not sincere or have some ulterior motive.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Democrats have been fumbling issues, indeed. Most due to republicans blocking it in the Senate. Some to sucking up to corporations or having in fights within the party, or by the lack of bravery. The status quo seemed good enough.

Israel is a complicated situation, it's not as easy as just taking all funding and weapons away, this would destabilise the whole region and Israel ceise to exist. It would have an impact on the whole world.

It's a disgrace and a shame what's happening in Gaza, but it's something that has to be dealt with on the highest of strategic orders.

If republicans loose big, we will see significant change soon. If they win, there won't be many places left to hide in the world.

If the progress the Biden admin has made besides getting blocked all the time, and republicans and foreign actors working with full force on the destruction of America and the EU, isn't a sign of being the that they might not be just talking heads, I don't know what to tell you.

Gen X+Y is taking over. Step out of the way Boomers and doomers

modlog example:

It's not too fancy, this example is just from the last time someone decided to post some 4chan-level shit and it got reported from all directions - you even can see people from hexbear, .world, blahaj, and sh.itjust.works all reporting it

I would argue that it's a positive impact, but that's where we differ. I can't tolerate ethnostates and this year has done nothing but cement that
