I saw a Cybertruck in the wild for the first time last week. It was just as stupid as I had always dreamed. ๐ฅน
There are two in my neighborhood! They park across the street from each other.
I recently saw one PAINTED matte chalk WHITE! The bevels (idk what else to call them, the space between the panels) as still very clearly stainless steel though so it was a steel outline and then BLINDING WHITE
It looked god awful, but was unfortunately in the incoming and thus gone before I could risk mine and everyone around me's lives for internet points (though it would have been an honorable death we can all admit)
It was probably wrapped and not paint, likely cheaply if stainless was still visible in the door seams. Tesla offers it as a factory option and they call it "color paint film".
That's... Even fucking worse oh my god
It honestly looked like additional ceramic plating on the thing and it was so gross
Yeah, we have a few in our town, and most of them have a custom paint/sticker job it seems. My kids think they're cool, I think they look stupid and are too expensive to be practical in any way.
They're over 3.5t, requiring special licenses in Europe. ๐คฏ
These things are legal in Europe?
Yeah, it's legal to purchase and own a Cybertruck in Europe.
You just can't legally drive it on public roads, because it hasn't passed the safety tests.
They haven't even attempted, because it is evident that it will fail. So, they have not introduced the vehicle for sale in Europe
If you see one, it's probably a gimmick showcase thing. They did tour a demo model around for tv stations earlier this year, but I'm not sure what the purpose was. It was basically mocked everywhere it went.
It's possible and perfectly legal to import it yourself and then... put it in a garage or drive around your mansion all day long if you want.
There is one registered in Czechia.
