About

Archaeology or archeology[a] is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, sites, and cultural landscapes.

Archaeology has various goals, which range from understanding culture history to reconstructing past lifeways to documenting and explaining changes in human societies through time.

The discipline involves surveying, excavation, and eventually analysis of data collected, to learn more about the past. In broad scope, archaeology relies on cross-disciplinary research. Read more...

But if you cut off the bottoms of the two glasses, and place them over the pupils of the Statue of Liberty? On July 4 and only on July 4, the dawn light coming in through these lenses will cause a message to be projected on the interior of the Statue of Liberty's head. This will be an elaborate coded message which can only be deciphered using the French-language version of the lyrics of song "Yankee Doodle." (It was one of Lafayette's side projects.)
