Btw: does anyone know if they've invented a way of guaranteeing (not) AI yet? It's getting harder and I can see this becoming a pressing issue, especially in journalism.

No, and there never will be a way. Once you create a system to detect AI generation, models are trained against it until they pass most of the time. You can create something that works temporarily but it's only a matter of time until it stops.

Probably wise to just exercise a healthy amount of doubt and assume everything is AI generated until proven otherwise.
