Now that's an oldie
huh, I expected the original would be all the way back from the 00's
2012 was 12 years ago. We're closer to when The Matrix takes place than to when it was filmed. Feel old yet?
if you want to feel old you should point out that the year 2000 is as far back as 1976 was in 2000.
Not really. Just trying to put things into chronology in my mind. I also don't remember when The Matrix was supposed to take place :/
IIRC Morpheus says it's around 2199, but he's working on faulty information because the people of Zion don't know that Neo is actually the sixth "One". I don't think they mention how long a One cycle is, but building Zion itself must have taken quite some time (unless the machines help rebuild it after destroying it in the previous cycle).
Had to chew on that one for awhile before I found the flavor but it's there.
