That's a BAD idea, though. That's a BAD bill that they literally designed to be Trumpian in a (successful) effort to prove that the GOP wouldn't even accept what they asked for if it gives a win to Democrats.

Show him and the rest of the American Fascist Party up by bringing a BETTER bill.

One that actually fixes some of the REAL problems at the border such as the threadbare immigration courts and all the laws making legal immigration so onerous that illegal immigration is inevitable.

Its a bad bill that is good to campaign on. Fox and the ilk have ramped the border up to be a huge issue when it isn't. Its almost the only weapon the GOP has, so hammering on the fact that dems had agreed to the most GOP loved, restrictive border bill in 25 years and Trump publicly and loudly killed it is a fantastic tool to use.

Not really, no. The vast majority of undecided voters aren't right wing people trying to decide between the parties, but left wing people trying to decide if voting is worth the bother. It of course is, but not everyone is convinced.

Not really, no. The left doesn't want GOP loved border bills and the left is who she'll have to convince to turn out.

Reminding people who hate xenophobia that the Dems are writing xenophobic and counterproductive border bills is shooting herself in the foot.

Huh? Underestimating centrists. Topics like this are for them, not leftists

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You have to be blind or stupid to think the Democratic party is against border tightening, all of the highest numbers of deportation in the last 30 years have been with Dems in office.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm talking about left wing voters being against xenophobic and counterproductive immigration law.

Not the center right to right wing Democratic Party that's has maybe a dozen left wing candidates in all of Washington and is primarying almost all of them.

I know that THOSE fuckers love themselves some "tightening" 🙄

There aren't that many left wing voters in the us, there would be if the vote existed in earnest but we all know if a socialist wins a socialist signs their death warrant the same day.

There would be if the so-called left of center (actually center right to right wing) party would stop alienating the left into becoming nonvoters.

there would be if the vote existed

Wtf does that even mean?

we all know if a socialist wins a socialist signs their death warrant the same day.

First of all, nobody knows that. Because it's bullshit.

Second, the left is SO much more than just socialists. Your reductionism isn't cleverness and it isn't helpful.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

There would be yes, currently there aren't.

You just said it, people don't vote left because it's a throw away via, they view Dem against their best interest.

Yes yes, as we all know America loves a socialist, none have been g family jailed or murdered for being vocal socialists.....

Sure, but the two most main stream sects of the farthest left being socialism and communism so not exist in American politics.

Seriously. Who is asking the dems to become more right wing?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Their owner donors, probably. That plus their perpetual strategy of always chasing the new "middle" every time the GOP moves further right, regardless of the fact that "just left of a literal fascist party" is FAR right 🤦
