I'm a bit invested in the missing woman in Ballarat, Samantha.
ramble, spoilered in case of triggers
I keep reading the news story and wondering what could have happened. Like, did she fall into a ditch and the tall grass is hiding her? Was she attacked and/abducted?It's just so strange. I really hope she is okay somehow, but being a bit of a true crime enthusiast it's hard to think that she is alive after 6 days. It doesn't make sense.
Sorry for the ramble, I hope she is alive and it was something mundane like falling or fainting in. A place that is hard to see. Her poor family.
I didn't know about this but googled... new info has come up as of 2 hours ago, a woman was violently attacked by a man on a running trail like 20km from the search for Samantha.
Edit: The attack happened a year ago.
TW violence, injuries
Seemed pretty serious, she was knocked unconscious. tw for blood and facial injuries if you look it up. I'm wondering if maybe this guy is related to the disappearance
Some reddit armchair detectives are calling suicide. Trouble is with so few details available you can make almost any theory sound convincing with a bit of conviction. With any luck she's just run off with someone she met online, she's reinvented herself, she now goes by becky and she's a barista over in Bali or some shit.
People go missing in the bush all the time. Some are found and some are not. This is given me Alison Baden-clay vibes.
