I've had similar childhood experiences with milk, and as an adult I find it goes so well to wash down basically any carb
Milk and coffee cake. Incredible. I know it's for pairing with coffee, but still.
Granted, I usually reach or oat/almond milk these days.
I don't see how people physically eat cookies without a glass of milk.
