A bakery in Conway NH is suing the town after being told their mural violates advertising signage laws. It seems the sign just has pastries and doesn't otherwise advertise the business, so they're calling it art and arguing it should stay. The town disagrees so they're going to court over it.

The bakery is suing the town for $1, and permission to keep the kids mural up.

This is a small business fighting to keep kids art on display. Suing for $1 is a way to signal that are willing to do this at a financial loss, and that the display isn't a means of enriching themselves but rather their community.

The world's oldest known wild bird has laid an egg at the approximate age of 74, US biologists say.

Wisdom, a Laysan albatross, was filmed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) at the Midway Atoll national wildlife refuge in the Pacific Ocean with her latest partner looking after the egg.

Members of the species usually only live for 12-40 years, but Wisdom was tagged in 1956 when she was about five.

Edit: trying to add a link to this post because it only added the image, but it's being a bish

I know the new admin isn't gonna do great things, but the money is already spent and a lot of people have already started (or in some cases, finished) these projects.

The work that has been done over the past four years has set into motion great changes for decades to come, and empowered local areas to now build on the vision and infrastructure set out by the outgoing administration. :)

I made chocolate chip cookies today and brought one downstairs to where my main computer is and ate it - they really turned out good. So I've been sitting here wishing I had brought more than one cuz I don't don't feel like going back upstairs, then just now I look over to the side and boom, half of the cookie is still left. Sweet! And when I say these turned out really good I mean awesome.
