From memory, in general:

Lots of chests for pistol of shame as you will be corpse-runningba lot.

Main goal is flamethrowers or death. You have nothing else that can stand up to a prolonged assault hands-off. N O T H I N G

Walls are too expensive - stone smelters cover a larger area and are more efficient for stone cost vs size. Use these at chokes.

Use natural terrain features a lot for chokes, but remember how big spotter range can be when building.

You will want something disposable for early warning, so you can rush to meet waves.

Rush oil, flamethrowers. Defend oil area like your life depends on it, because it does. Iirc we lost a large chunk of the base and rebuilt around oil again, as only the could we erect permanent fortifications.

Once you break the back of early-mid game and start to scale past first rocket, it does turn back into feeling easier, just with lower UPS and wading through swarms of enemies like doomguy.

I still get chills playing when the collosus jumps in-system first time and in subsequent scenes where your flying a incredibly tiny fighter vs capital ships that take up your entire screen.

I really haven't felt that sense of awe in other space games oddly, and the story of both 1 and 2 was chilling.

Underrated for sure. But 99 was a amazing year for games (I'm a huge system shock 2 fan). But a cursory wiki look at 99 makes me feel so sorry for modern gen kids waiting over a decade for a new elder scrolls or GTA.

This is a pretty interesting concept as a self-hosted. Sadly integration with android auto is important to me, and my understanding is that forces you into needing an app

Curious if car play on your radar at all - my brains telling me it's be a PITA to solve for in a wep app unless you also maintained android/iOS apps that wrapped the webui justnto implement carplay

Edit: I see you've got a android beta and auto on the readme milestone - I'll keep an eye on this project and probably toss it on my homelab for testing once it's a nix package.

Yes, however it wont auto-download oldest-newset, and more annoyingly it wont play next in that reversed order, it just stops the ep and I have to manually find and select the next ep in that podcast. I sorta don't grok the AP workflow with queue and inbox - most of my podcasts are story/investigative journalism style and I want to just click on a podcast, press play to resume where I was at, and auto roll through the podcast in whatever order it should be.

APs workflow seems very much aimed at listen to a jumble of whatever's been recently released' so I feel like I'm fighting it to work like I expect

I'm using AntennaPod but it's annoying me that I can't sort and autoplay oldest to newest. Unused to use podcast addict but I'm keeping google play services outta my main profile in grapheneOS which means I cant use my pro licence for pocketcasts...

Always wondered how the heck they tattoo the eyelid. I find simple/light tattooing on meaty areas somewhat peaceful and relaxing, but do that to my eye and I'll be twitching like a flea on crack

Nothing. Embrace the chaos. My 5yo ensures I have no gaming sessions past 30 seconds.

The question is - since this is a decentralized non-corporation network but modeled after techbro networks, do we have the same negative effect here unintentionally through choices in design cloning?

They don't know
