Not what happened. They aren’t free. They are schizophrenic and had an episode. They are going to be in a facility for rehabilitation, which can be for life if they aren’t found to be of sound mind. Justice and punishment are separate things. Murder is still illegal and it’s disingenuous to say that’s the result of this decision.
