People keep blaming sugar when it's usually not the problem. You have a few foods that are pretty much just sugar like soda or gummies. Any other snacks have just as much if not more fat in calories than sugar. Not to mention all the frozen crap, take out and other convenient foods that are loaded in fat and are extremely delicious compared to healthy stuff you can make at home.

Sugar is bad I'm not contesting that, but fat is just as bad. Try to put in more veggies, make food at home, and write down your calories so you can minimize the number of calories you eat. If you're anything like me, you'll find out that you'll always eat more fat than you plan rather than carbs.

Mostly ignore it

Gotta gamble sometimes since the odds that there are truly milfs in the area is never 0.

OK I'll be serious for a second. The comment was ant-Marx. I think that the idea that capitalism would inevitably lead to a socialist revolution is not a real thing. I'm looking at all the capitalist western countries and see that there is no real need or even desire for people to overhaul the whole financial and governmental systems. Although socialists are becoming more prominent over the years especially on the internet, I believe that this is only relegated to the internet. The only thing close to socialism that we have is Bernie Sanders and he's not really a powerful politician so others would probably not emulate him in the future.

You can think that this is a cope or a soyjack-like post all you want, but at least I live in the real world where we're not waiting for a fantasy revolution that would make us work in socialist utopias where everyone is a farmer in a small garden or a hair stylist or whatever the fuck people thing it's gonna be like. I know the issues that would plague something like socialism or communism and know that capitalism solves all the problems there. Just look at the USSR in their last years and how much the US was outpacing them in terms of technology and production. The quality of life in capitalist countries was and still is leagues above any socialist or communist countries.

I can understand when people criticize the current system we have since it's 100% not perfect. But to just call for a socialist revolution instead of better methods of regulation and closing loops as we discover them is just stupid.

And lastly, the post is pretty stupid on another level since the "woes of capitalism" are there because of events that mess up global trade like the pandemic or the current Houthi attacks on the red sea, when you know for a fact that any country that's not extremely closed off and protectionist would be just as impacted.

We are truly on the cusp of socialist revolution just like Marx said. If we extrapolate the lemmygrad instance to the rest of the world, that means it's only a couple years max until we behead those pesky billionaires starting with wrren bffet. It's simple math if you read this philosophers textbook " Das Kapital."

Or literally anything else with a screen

Have you ever started masturbating, then found out you're really not that much in the mood but kept going? Same kinda logic

So they literally cannot do anything that's not racist.

Keep: racist appropriation Remove: racist minority erasure

He is 100℅ better at that job, but you're mistaken if you think that GN has nearly as much influence in those things as LTT. Not that I'm saying that GN is not good enough, but he doesn't fill the market that LTT does only GN's own very technical niche.

Going blind from eating that stew? That's a paddlin

I know that GrapheneOS has a lot of security features that make it basically impossible to compromise your phone. And that it has a lot of control over permissions and has some privacy features. But it also has a Google Services compatibility that would allow you to use Google services, which would allow Google to harvest a lot of data from you; much less data, but still some. Now OSes like CalyxOS or Lineage have microG which in addition to giving you the APIs, it uses less battery and has the ability to use Mozilla network location to stop google from getting that data. CalyxOS and Lineage don't have the crazy hardening modifications that GrapheneOS has, but Android is already crazy secure compared to something like Windows or Linux without a properly configured SELinux or AppArmor. Why have Graphene over Calyx?

I'm kind of tired of Google sending me to the same 3 sites whenever I search for something. If not the same 3 sites it's 7 others that are so generic and boring I just feel they're useless. It's always makeuseof, androidauthority, or whatever other sites that have useful information but I rarely feel like they are saying anything new.

I want to see the results from those small blogs that are sometimes linked here. I can't come up with one since... you know that's why I'm asking how to find them, but you know them; they talk about nerdy stuff and are not afraid to get technical in whatever topic they discuss.

Also duckduckgo and qwant do the same thing. If there is a way to curate the results to better fit my needs then that'd be great too!

Does anyone else feel as if it's over when it comes to really owning your own things?

As of now:

  • You don't have the option of having a phone with decent specs and replaceable parts
  • You have to have really good knowledge in tech to have private services that are on par with what the big companies offer
  • You have to put up with annoying compatibility issues if you install a custom ROM on your android phone
  • You cannot escape apps preventing you from using them if you root your device
  • Cars are becoming SaaS bullcrap
  • Everything is going for a subscription model in general

And now Google is attempting to implement DRM on websites. If that goes through, Firefox is going to be relegated to privacy conscious websites (there aren't many of those). At this point, why even bother? Why do I go to great lengths at protecting my privacy if it means that I can't use most services I want?

It sucks because the obvious solution is for people to move away from these bullshit companies and show that they actually care about their privacy. Even more important is to actually PAY for services they like instead of relying on free stuff. I'm not optimistic not just because the non privacy conscious side is lazy, but because my side is greedy. I mean one of the most popular communities on lemmy is "piracy" which makes it all the more reasonable for companies not to listen to privacy conscious people.

I wouldn't say that this is the endgame but in this trajectory, privacy is gone before 2030.
