Also at least in my country I can call in sick if I have a headache, will be paid for the day and there is no number of paid-time-off-days, which will be subtracted by one when I do so. The employer continues to pay up to 6 weeks of salary if you need to stay at home due to sickness, and for a period longer than 3 days you need a dr to confirm you're sick. The number of sick days per year depend on you actually being sick - I was baffled when I learned this is a fixed number in the US (at least for some) . I guess the motivation to work sick when you have a limited number of paid sick days also contributes to the usage of pain killers.

I want to believe they "lost" them because they called him names

In my country it has been made easier to change the gender in your passport. I think it's a good step forward. But since this has officially been decided, multiple times people used the sentence above for any gender related issue, with derogatory attitude. For example when talking about quota of women at work or pay gaps. When I just look at them, because I'm missing a good response, they add something like "now it's easy, everyone can change it just as they like". I don't know how to concisely respond to this. There are multiple things wrong - as if discrimination would disappear by "changing" gender and the obvious dissent about it being a progressive step that everyone can decide for themselves now what the gender entry in their ID is. What would be a good short response in a situation like this?

You mean it worked out for the people he didn't eradicate

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. And so terrified that anonymity is wiped out that easily

My father in law told me how a guy at work created several pictures with AI for decorating the floor, bragging about saving costs since he didn't use licensed pictures. But the AI may have used licensed pictures to learn creating those images. Artists lose money due to this being done by companies, which could very well afford paying the artists. I guess a private person creating memes with AI is not threatening anyone to lose their job.

I guess it's bait for people who like to judge. The idea could be: it's not responsible to quit science for this and being a mother makes irresponsible choices even worse. That's not my point of view, but I know people whose life seems to be so empty that they feel a constant need to look down on others and the "mother" information gives them at least 5 more minutes of talking shit about how this is a terrible decision.

Love those colours - everytime I see a photogenic sunset I am on the way home. Sometimes if it's super nice I exit the motorway and try to find a place with a good view to take a picture, but it's never as beautiful as I saw it while driving, with the horizon clear in front of me. A nice sunset always makes my day better, thanks for sharing.

Oh I just saw it's sunrise not sunset - but both are good.

Das Deutscheste, was ich bisher im Lokalblatt lesen durfte.

Hi, updated the app and tried again but "download" does not seem to do anything, or at least I cannot find the pictures in my gallery. Does the download folder have to be configured somewhere? Couldn't find the setting. Thanks!
