Live fact checking sounds good to me. I’d also like to see a long-form debate so that candidates have enough time to properly discuss each topic. The traditional format seems so outdated and only helpful for creating soundbites.

Great! Now do TaskRabbit next! There must be a list of companies who do shady stuff like this that the AG can work from.
Thanks for sharing this interpretation. Assuming for a moment that was his actual intent in saying that (I watched the clip several times and I simply could not decipher his actual intent), I would suggest that it should still be essentially campaign-ending to say something so closely resembling a call for the end of elections once you are elected. People should be so repulsed by the idea that it makes all candidates feel obliged to speak carefully and clearly enough to avoid even the insinuation of saying such things.
I think you mean USSS.
Hmm that makes sense. And yet something like 3 million more people voted for her than trump, right? Maybe Kamala can pull this off if people tend to like her any amount better than Hillary. Also, I think Kamala will put in the extra effort, whereas, as you said, Hillary didn’t seem to.
Also the format of the debates is pretty terrible. Giving only 2 minutes to answer on complex social and geopolitical topics only lends itself to trying to make the best sound-bite. I would love to see them experiment with longer form responses (even if that means fewer questions each debate), as well as things like cutaways for adding context and fact-checking.
Nice graphic! But this data seems wildly out of date. For example, LinkedIn has over 1 billion users. Unless this is referring to weekly active users or something, but the row just says “users”.
I agree the timeframe isn’t the main issue. It’s more concerning that the nominee isn’t getting selected through the primaries/caucuses where actual voters are involved in choosing the nominee.
Yep, it’s called dwell time and it is 100% one of the metrics used by the algorithms that decide what content to serve up.
Totally agree! I picked up an old iPhone 6s yesterday and I just couldn’t believe how much lighter and thinner it is than the latest models.
Sure, but only if we had ranked choice voting.
Wait, vote by email? I never heard of that in US elections.

Ohh ok, they just receive their ballot by email but after filling it out, it must still be mailed back or dropped off in person.
Ok then why is this a problem? It’s no different than vote by mail, which most people I know have been doing since 2020.
