Manufacturers will not build factories in the US to avoid tariffs. They will downsize and hoard wealth for 4 years

Big enough manufacturers will keep producing the individual components in China, then ship to a nearby country that’s not under tariffs to finish the assembly and ship from there.

So it’ll create jobs, alright. They’ll just be overseas.

As for the slavery… If you think you can get a slavemaster to ease up on his workers by forcing him to cut costs, you gotta go back to Econ 101.

I used to pride myself on my tea snobbery, sampling green tea varieties from the farmers market and using a ceramic infuser.

Then one day I stopped having time for all that and found that Constant Comment was actually quite lovely and available everywhere.

Black tea with orange zest and spices. Simple, but everything I really want from a tea. Lady Grey is good too.

Mobile OSes will ask (and act directly, if ignored) backgrounded apps to dump themselves out to disk to reclaim memory when needed, and the kinds of processing you’re allowed to do while backgrounded are quite limited.

There’s really not much of a performance reason to kill backgrounded apps. Feel free to kill them for other reasons, like unnecessary network traffic or draining your battery by keeping GPS active.

Voter: Why does the economy suck so bad?

MAGA: Because brown people.

Harris: You're crazy, the economy is doing better than ever!

Simple as.

Even though stars come in singlets, binaries, trinaries, and even greater numbers of multi-star systems, we’d only ever found stars orbiting one — or, at most, two — stars.

I think they mean planets.

I’m just stuck on the notion that “the existence of social media” is his limiting constraint here.

Canonical Strawman Leftist™ describing their utopia: “Everyone votes on everything, and we engage in thoughtful discussion to persuade our neighbors to make good choices with their votes.”

Same leftist describing today: “Voting is pointless, and it’s impossible to change anyone’s mind.”
