  • Waking up via lights slowly dimming on is much nicer than an acoustic alarm.
  • Light temperature adjusting to current time of day is very nice and does loads for my mood
  • Lights automatically turning on and off based on presence and measured light levels is totally unnecessary but just so convenient
  • Getting a reminder to take the wash out when the machine is done
  • Smart plug automatically turns off power to other devices when the TV is turned off

Somehow, nobody here is talking about that "cis mate" is accidentally too restrictive, if it's about genital preference. Saying "I want a cis mate" is going to exclude non-binary people that would actually be perfectly compatible with your genital preference and present close enough to the gender you're attracted to. Let's be appropriately specific when talking about this stuff, people

...I think you're confusing GDPR and GPRS? Unless I'm being whooshed here

Every device in my house is within 1-second of every other.

Meanwhile, my new oven's clock drifts by over a minute in just a few days after setting it to the correct time, smh

Those are very similar, so I'm assuming you probably had a more elaborate prompt than just your username - would you mind sharing?

Wtf, since when can AI produce text in pictures that well without any errors? (Ignoring the clock though, I guess 😂)

Oftentimes, just a couple of pieces are responsible for the high price, because they're rare in the specific color being used in the MOC. Sort the part list by price, and you'll quickly be able to identify what the problem is, and see if you have similar pieces already that'll do the job, or if you can just substitute a different color that's cheaper to get, for example. It also helps to have your own collection logged on rebrickable, as it'll show you how many of the required pieces you already own!

I think "legally" and "without constantly wanting to vomit" is the trickier question. From a purely ethical standpoint I don't see a problem with taking CSAM that's apparently already flooding Lemmy and using it to test whether your filter works before nuking it. At least as long as you're making sure you're not exposing anyone else to it.

Let's not resort to ableism to call out misogyny, please.

And that's precisely why so many people are calling for everyone to defederate immediately from anything facebook-owned. The only way to prevent this is to not even let them get started.
