I do it a bunch of times for the same reason I also CTRL+C a bunch of times when I need to copy on windows.

Just because one person by comparison seems a bigger p.o.s. doesn't mean we then value the input of the slightly lesser p.o.s.
My parents loved to quote the old testament saying they could kill me if I was a disobedient child.
My parents would vote by absentee ballot. Dad would have them do it together at the table at the same time. If my mom wanted to vote differently, she'd never have been able to.

At some point, you need to let your art be what it is.
In some places it can be seen as helping one candidate, in other places it can be seen as helping the other. The country isn't the same everywhere. Some states lean different ways and so it all depends what your vote is countering.
