I get after school activities with them.

Have to use steel cut oats, rolled oats turn into mush if cooked overnight.

I don't sleep that much. I have the advantage of being a short sleeper, 4-6 hrs per night is normal, I find it very difficult to sleep more than 6 hrs.

I'm usually in bed by 11, and asleep before 12.

I wake before my alarm at 5:30

I finish at 2:30 in afternoon, I'm home before the kids....

You could easily argue that high EI has caused more human suffering than anything else.

Being highly charismatic (high EI), means you can get others to follow you. You can manipulate and mislead.

Not every high EI person is morally good.

Specifically on the global warming comment, scientists at the oil companies knew about and wrote reports about the global warming potential in the 1970's, they knew it was bad. Their bosses (theoretically higher EI leaders) kept it quiet...

That orange tinge, it makes me a little unhinged; maybe my views are a little fringe but I just don't like his cringe.

I make overnight oats nearly every night.

I use steel cut oats in the slow cooker over night, add dates, apple, cinnamon and chia seeds.

It is ready for me before I leave for work at ~6:10, and ready for the rest of the family when they have breakfast at 7:30.

What is not to like.

Agreed, there are many types of intelligence. It is not often that you have people who are high in many types.

I don't really agree that EI trumps the others. EI is great and important; especially where managing others. It really depends on the problem you are trying to solve.

I would say having high self awareness (which maybe a type of EI); is super important, knowing what you are and are not good at; will stand you in good stead no matter what you are doing.

Everyone has their unique talents and areas of expertise.

This is a good take.

I know many people who are not as academically smart as I am, but they are capable of doing many things I cannot. I find it weird, they are impressed by me doing things that are hard for them, but dismiss when they do things that are hard for me....humans can be strange creatures.

I try not to assume, I trust people will show their personality naturally.

And for the record, the fact that you are on lemmy shows that you are probably above average.

This is a pretty good take, a lot of this is time. But the aggressively stupid do out themselves pretty quickly.

Interacting with people more, will give you a fuller sense of their personality.

I was reading a comment thread recently.

One commenter stated that they are aware of the people who are "dumber" than them, and if they are not aware the person they are talking to is either similar in intelligence or smarter than they are.

So my question is, do you have this awareness?

Are you conscious of your relative standing in the intelligence hierarchy around you?

And a side point, can you tell a smart person is acting dumb to fit in with those around them?

What arsehole teachers.

I empathize with the mum, worrying about the government cutting the program.... They will be looking for any excuse

What the actual fuck!

As the title says.

If you don't know the discworld books by Pratchett, Granny Weatherwax it the most formidable character. She is a witch, but doesn't generally use magic to solve problems; preferring to use persuasion and manipulation. In saying that her magic is extremely powerful.

Maybe a bard with huge wisdom, persuasion and intimidation.

Just wow!

What a psycho.

Air New Zealand has abandoned a 2030 goal to cut its carbon emissions, blaming difficulties securing more efficient planes and sustainable jet fuel.

The move makes it the first major carrier to back away from such a climate target.

The airline added it is working on a new short-term target and it remains committed to an industry-wide goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

The aviation industry is estimated to produce around 2% of global carbon dioxide emissions, which airlines have been trying to reduce with measures including replacing older aircraft and using fuel from renewable sources.

Just changed my theme to Vaporware dark, it is really funky.

I really like the monospaced font and retro-futuristic look.

I'd hate to see the school trips decline.

Not sure if this is a good thing or not.

HTP's may help stop smoking, or just as likely (in my opinion) increase the rate of people starting.

Seems like a win for the tobacco industry either way.

She should be removed from parliament, now that the investigation has concluded and she was found to be corrupt....get rid of her.
