I find rehashing the same arguments over and over to be boring, especially when they come from very different worldviews.

I'd rather discuss finer points of conservativism without people yelling about us not caring about the poor or women or other such nonsense. Because we all know that it's nonsense.

IMO.

Remove and warn people who promote things that are clearly anti-conservative. Eg. Defending abortion, socialism, communism, plotting to overthrow the government or election system, etc.

If they continue after warning, ban them.

There's certainly a wide range of what is considered "conservative" - and plenty to discuss and debate. But that discussion and debate can't really happen if all we're doing is debating against clearly anti-conservative viewpoints

I mean. This is whatcouldgowrong. What were you expecting?

Closed loop... Except for the government taxes. And the financials which will likely not be home grown. And the outside regulations, inspections, state compliance, health care, etc, etc.

I'm all for a closed loop society. But even a government as "free" as the USA would never allow that.

Still I applaud their efforts. Maybe the headline is a bit misleading though

I've even had people almost use it instead of the normal button. "Oh not that one. The button where your thumb is"

I think you just say that it's not an appropriate picture for an avatar. You don't have to explain much further. Or "ask me when you're older"

gifer.com works pretty well

That's cool. Got a link you'd be willing to share?

That kind of thing is actually possible with Ethereum DNS and hosting. It's not mature enough to be viable yet, but the possibility is there.

ETH has DNS. I would think the fediverse would like to see adoption of DNS that governments and big companies can't mess with or take over with lots of cash.

The idea of this isn't dumb... but man... the absolutely horrible execution of it makes me think they had no idea what they were doing and definitely should not have attempted it that way.
