Popular torrent site TorrentGalaxy has been offline for two weeks, with no explanation from its operators. Members of the site's staff are also being kept in the dark, and many fear the site may never return. To the delight of copyright holders, the site's troubles are now being felt across the torrent ecosystem after the site's upload bots also stopped working.

  • Apple has announced that its AI-powered Siri has been delayed to 2026.
  • This is a more than a year and half wait time for a product promised during the launch of Apple Intelligence.
  • The new Siri would have been an agentic software, using the iPhone at the command of the user.

(...) That means that RCS will be the first large-scale messaging service to support interoperable E2EE between client implementations from different providers. Together with other unique security features such as SIM-based authentication, E2EE will provide RCS users with the highest level of privacy and security for stronger protection from scams, fraud and other security and privacy threats.

These enhancements to support E2EE are the cornerstone of the new RCS Universal Profile release. In addition to E2EE, RCS Universal Profile 3.0 makes it easier for users to engage with businesses over RCS messaging through a richer deep link format and includes additional smaller enhancements such as improved codecs for audio messaging and easier management of subscriptions with business messaging senders. In addition, RCS continues to support a range of interoperable messaging functions between iOS and Android users, such as group messaging, the ability to share high-resolution media, and see read receipts and typing indicators.

It was a surprise ceremony at the White House presided over by President Donald Trump to unveil a $100 billion investment from what he called the world’s most powerful company, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

But nearly 8,000 miles away, the mood was far from celebratory. Instead, the shock announcement last week has reignited fears in Taiwan about losing its crown jewel, its world-beating semiconductor industry, to the US due to political pressure.

The island democracy’s former President Ma Ying-jeou wasted no time in accusing the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of “selling TSMC” to Trump as a “protection fee.”

The solution is for Firefox to die and for all the payments to be paid to Servo instead.

Servo survived all the problems that got thrown at them without excuses.

Meanwhile Firefox seem to shot themselves every week by their own choice.

I mean who the hell thought that integrating AI into Firefox for example is a good idea.

Yes brother, it's outdated....

The new app name is Mastodon. 😆

I literally wrote a long memes (including a Linardo DiCaprio gif from the wolf of wall street movie) filled comment to tell you to delete your Twitter account and use Mastodon, but I deleted it, because I thought you might misunderstand me and think that it's offensive.

Just wanted to say that.

I actually wanted to keep the title short, but I think it would be better to edit the title to avoid any confusion to make it clear that it's manufactured in China, rather than saying it in the current way.

Edit: I edited the title to reflect the details better.

Civil rights advocates say they are concerned that the Trump administration will penalize pro-Palestinian students who have not violated any laws or expressed support for Hamas. They also are expressing concern about the use of AI, a new technology that has advanced even since Oct. 7, to surveil students.

Advocates for and against the administration’s efforts both say they expect them to wind up in court. For now, though, the crackdown is already creating a chill on college campuses, according to the NPR report, which found that some foreign students are increasingly hesitant about participating in any pro-Palestinian events, even when they are not demonstrations against Israel.
