"Vous" is the first one that comes to mind in french. But since it is also a more formal (and/or "respectful") version of "tu/toi", it can both designate a group of people or a single person, depending on the context (just like "you" in English). Sometimes people will use "vous tous" (literally "you all") to make this clear.

It is a little better than the "you" situation in English since if you are speaking with someone that is not using the singular form of "vous" to speak about you (which is basically anyone you are familiar with unless they are your boss or In-laws and kind of oldschool), it is instantly clear what they mean at least.

Also, a lot of kids don't have the slightest idea of what the "save" icon in their apps represents. They just know it's the save icon because it's everywhere

Yeah I used to think that the breed does not meaningfully affect their personality but that changed when I met my gf's orientals

I think the siamese-types might just be orientals with the same color pattern as siameses. Which is basically the same thing as far as I'm concerned but apparently there are differences

Amazing. I feel like there is a similar story (of the "why would you even do that ?" variety) behind this label as with the MAS-36 bayonet hole

Huh. Not as bad as I expected. Also I am somehow not surprised that this has actually been done enough to be documented

Tbf a lot of these issues can be mitigated with good training. But yeah it's still more work than maintaining a car

This is an especially stupid post coming from a guy working in Germany. As far as I know, they see leaving work early as a good thing because you were so productive you didn't need an entire day of work to complete your tasks

Hi, I'm looking for a way to record voicemails that my recently deceased grandfather sent to my grandmother. Visual voicemail is setup but it does not show the messages, so I can't just save them by sharing them with my phone. Also her SIM is not "nano" format so I can't use it in my fairphone 4 to record it from there

If anyone can recommend a play store app that is not a privacy nightmare, or a way to install f droid on her phone, that would be lovely (even after enabling apks it couldn't open the f-droid apk, I assume because the API on her phone is too outdated)

Edit : nevermind, I remembered that her phone carrier has a web interface with the option to download the messages as a .mp3 file. Thanks to everyone for your replies, recording through jack was also a good idea but it completely went over my head after years of using a phone with no jack

Hi, I recently installed pop!_os on my shiny new gaming desktop and I'm loving it so far. But I'm now trying to get some games to work (mostly Helldivers 2 right now, which does work after a fresh install, but then freezes on a blackscreen with all subsequent launches. I'm assuming this is due to that awful kernel level anti cheat somehow)

Long story short, according to the fine folks over at protonDB, gamescope can help. But I can't find it on the pop shop or with apt-get. If anyone can point me to some trusted PPA I can use, or the dependencies I need to build it from source, that would be very appreciated (or even, just how to find out what dependencies I am missing. I lost my linux-fu after a long period of using Windows exclusively but I'm not a complete noob)

Additional infos : I used the Nvidia installer, 550 drivers (I have the RTX 3080 Ti), have the Nvidia drm modeset enabled, and I'm using the pop_os Steam package. ~~I also enabled "force full composition pipeline" in Nvidia settings~~ actually I just disabled it because it was causing issues with some other games that were running fine without it
