The latest Tool album.

I can't even remember the name, but it felt like a lot of noise from an alley full of garbage cans. I don't know if I finished listening to it.

It probably wouldn't fit your thrash and death metal tastes, but sludge metal and doom metal are a lot less likely to have screaming or annoying vocals in them. I personally really don't like screaming even though I like metal, haha.

Otherwise, acoustic metal is where you want to land. It can be hard to find in my experience, though.

We says to Meemaw when she awakens from the crypt down yonder that she can't be out there tryna slay some ole dragon. We says, Meemaw, iff'n ya don't starts to watch fer yer health, we'll have ta get one o' them immovable rod thingers and keep ye sat in her chair.

Salads, sandwiches, wraps, ramen (using an electric kettle to boil water).

If OP has a fear of fire, a rice cooker, or crock pot, or instapot, or air fryer, or panini press can do so much without ever having to see flames.

Early 30s /F / North America

I'm close to the right demographic, but for the missing appendage.

For a short while when I was having trouble waking up, I used a goat scream (the goat scream) for my alarm. It's close enough to a woman's scream and I gotta say, yes it woke me up, but god, do not do that to yourself.

Is it possible to have them share their screen instead of using a phone camera? Unless it's hardware stuff, I guess

But I know for sure on Teams you can use your own pointer on their screen during screen share to point at what you mean and to motion towards stuff.

I don't know how much they are, but there's a bunch of classic games on the switch. Jeopardy is pretty good. Wheel of fortune. I think there's a trivial pursuit.

For other Jackbox trivia games, fibbage is great, and you don't know jack is too.

As others said, Khan academy, but in the event that you need something even more broken down, patrickJMT on YouTube is a godsend.

Irreverent stuff like this will never not be funny.

Ngl, I didn't read OPs post, but Cync has given me so much trouble.

I can't find an actual answer anywhere.

I'm trying to declutter my desk and a KVM switch sounds like the right way to go. I have two monitors that I use for work/play, but I'm having trouble figuring out if the output from my work laptop dock would be okay to input into the KVM to then output to dual monitors.

Anyone got a clue or has any experience with this?

I love horror but apparently I don't vibe with a lot of recommendations I find online.

I'd seen so much hype about Event Horizon and I absolutely hated it and didn't find it scary. I just watched Late Night With the Devil and whole it was definitely enjoyable, it wasn't the least but frightening. I also just watched Let the Right One In and really didn't like it. It also was not a horror movie in my opinion.

I will say one of my favorites is Sinister or the first Conjuring. Sinister for the stomach twisting dread and suspence throughout and Conjuring for the same.

So, what movies do you find to be the scariest?

Dahlias! (lemmy.world)

Stumbled upon a rose and dahlia garden with a ton of different species. It was such a a gorgeous place and a gorgeous day. I took a bunch of pictures, but this one really sings for me.

Just checking in on y'all.

I'm stuck on this personally. I love my manual, I have a tiny little Mazda 2 and I have driven that thing absolutely everywhere because I can control it better than any automatic I've ever driven. But I've been casually looking for a new car and I'd love to have an electric, but I don't want to lose that level of control and everything I love about a manual.

What do you all think? What's your take?

I'm really stuck. I've been unhappy for years and we've done couple's therapy and tried to reconnect, but it's just not enough.

I have a bad habit of feeling guilty and responsible for everything and I just can't see a future where I hurt my partner so badly. I don't know how to sever myself from the relationship and alllllll of the stuff and responsibilities. My partner slacked off when it came to college internships so they've been unemployed for years, and now finally found a fast food job. But that means that if I leave, they're done for. They can't pay the mortgage alone, nevertheless the bills or food. They also mentioned in our therapy that their greatest fear is divorce and I don't know if that's because they're still so attached to me or if it's the fear of having to make it on their own.

How do I uproot their entire life over my unhappiness? That just doesn't seem like something I could possibly do... but I can't stay here, I'm withering away.

Help?

It appears to be up on Web, but I can't seem to get it to load in at all on Liftoff, and I've been making sure to be on my Beehaw account.

I have cleared my cache and checked for updates. Is this just a me problem or a bigger problem?

I'm thinking of going in to get my masters in climatology and I want to know everything from the mouths of those that do the work.

I don't have a degree in meteorology, but I was a weather forecaster for a number of years, mostly focusing on aviation weather. I have a degree in geography /GIS and think those skills will help with research and such. I really really really love weather and want to be part of it.

So... Can anyone offer insights?
