I've got mini metro, something called shapez that I've not played, functional ear trainer which I'm classifying as a game cause it kinda is, and NYT games which is the only one I play regularly.

That's a pretty standard and accurate description of most protests, I don't think it's intended to hide anything. It's just highlighting the simple fact that there's no reason for police to use violence on a peaceful person. There's essentially no way this could be justified anyway, it's not like she was about to attack someone. That SMH article kinda points out the big thing, the protestors were talking to the police trying to understand exactly what was happening from a legal standpoint, and then the cops escalated for no apparent reason.

This happens a lot. It's really important to understand exactly what powers cops are exercising and if they're allowed to, because they lie constantly in order to manipulate and intimidate people. This whole thing is rotten with the smell of authoritarian crap. It's not illegal to protest, but our right to do so is rapidly being incriminated and things like this will only become more common as the police are praised for beating the communities they claim to protect.

Oh, I hadn't thought to include it in mine. Good idea. I'm tempted to add a free Palestine too, but I probably shouldn't stir the pot too much when I'm trying to not draw attention to myself lol

If you haven't already done it, Pat (the Bunny) put all his stuff on archive and he's far from the only one.

Not everyone likes the way these images are built, but the liinuxserver.io containers are so easy to use. You can replace so many cloud services using these, I've replaced:

  • All streaming platforms
  • Google drive
  • Google photos
  • Every note app
  • The library (sorta, I just host an ebook server for manga that won't fit on my reader)
  • Grocery lists
  • Exercise tracking apps

Plus I've setup some awesome new stuff like a website for one of my collectives and a few things to automate server maintenance.

You need somewhere to host your services (I'm using an old PC) and a little linux experience, but it's absolutely worth giving it a crack. I might work in the industry but I learnt more making my little server than I ever did on the job.

Way to go! I've just started working out again too and I absolutely share your pain. I've been doing strength training though, I always struggle to get outside to do cardio when it's this damn cold haha. Good on you for looking after your knees and best of luck when you start doing leg day, I know a lot of people hate it, but personally it's my favourite.

Either way, keep it up! I hope we both stick to our plans and make amazing progress.

I went to court to appeal my conviction and fine, I was expecting a good behaviour bond but nope! Turns out judges don't like when cops lock you up for 7 hours when they only needed to get your name and address. So woo, clean record again!

I also got super lucky and a friend of mine was playing a gig at a small town on the way to court, so I got to spend Saturday hanging out with some Aussie folk punk artists at a really cool venue.

My solicitor continues to prove herself a great ally, in the middle of my hearing she started whispering to me about how she's been doing work with trans rescue, they look like a good group. They help people escape persecution for being trans, they have resources for getting out of the US too.

Overall a good weekend, there were still plenty of challenges but I think I managed everything okay.

I was literally joking about "body horror voltron" with a friend yesterday

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that! Sounds like fun

I figured as much, but I thought OP might be looking to recreate the childhood experience.

The saddle club is a book series iirc. I just remember the TV show being popular when I was a kid, but I've never been a horse person so I can't say if the books or show are worth it.

Sometimes it can be fun, I've had a fair bit of fun during some rallies by handing my megaphone to loads of different people, we had a counter protest back in April that turned into a dance party too.

I've also been to plenty of scary ones. I had one where I had to run away from violent cops and change into a different outfit behind dumpsters. Sometimes the adrenaline can be fun if it's a more spicy action, usually the nerves go away once you get started.

I was meant to record a segment for a radio program to discuss some of the unique implications that being trans can have for your mental health. We'd decided to talk a bit about how I'd ended up getting an ADHD diagnosis as a result of starting feminizing hormones, they'd made it significantly worse and I was struggling to keep up with daily life.

Now I've ended up having to put that recording off for a while because I was struggling with some pretty severe depression, but it seems like this is probably borderline personality disorder. I saw a few Reddit posts where some said they'd had noticed theirs get worse after starting hrt and I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced anything like this, or knows about research into it?

Could be any disorder or condition, it's all good to know about as there doesn't seem to be that much info out there beyond people's experiences, it could help others to hear yours. (I'll add mine to the comments)

I won't share any details on that program beyond what I get your consent for or anything reasonably vague such as "I spoke to x other people who've had similar experiences."

This article is from before the actions happened, I'm sharing this one because it's well written and touches on the points we consider most important: intersectionality and solidarity. Also we forgot to plan a post action media release for my city and got absolutely no media attention after the fact oops (except for community radio ♥️♥️♥️3CR❤️❤️❤️).

It's worth noting that this approach was so overwhelmingly successful that the rally in my city ended up being several times larger than anything we'd anticipated, 3000+ attendees at the peak. If you're looking at organising a radical campaign like this, use your contacts and ask your allies to mobilise, it's incredibly powerful stuff and builds power for their movements as well.

The discussion on mainstream queer activism being inadequate and toxic is very important and worth understanding in detail. You can't build a lasting movement or obtain liberation by throwing minorities under the bus and capitulating to oppressive patriarchal norms that reinforce harmful stereotypes and gender roles.

We've experienced this first hand. The day after the rally, an NGO announced their own action appropriating the name we chose and on the same day as a rally for refugees. They silenced all critiques, spat in the face of what we stood for and even claimed they organised one of the rallies in another city. They also have history of silencing the voices and efforts of trans people (especially from other marginalised groups) while platforming the politicians who pass legislation to suppress and erase us. It's been absolutely awful to deal with, but you cannot be complicit in it.

I basically listen to music constantly, and when I'm on holiday or riding my bike I generally use USB-C earbuds. I've had way too many wireless buds break and I'm sick of them, but these aren't fairing much better tbh.

Problem is that the cables always eventually stop working, often from my phone being in my pocket while I'm walking or cycling. I've been able to partly extend their life by keeping my phone in the thigh pocket on my cargo pants but it often just falls over and bends the cable more sharply than my hip pocket.

I'm looking for either a pair of highly durable earbuds either USB-C or 3.5mm with a USB-C DAC recommendation, or even better a DSP cable that I could use with IEMs with a 0.78mm connector.

I'm also open to any other suggestions at all.
