Actually it appears to be the carbonation that increases hunger, thus even sparkling water can do that. Below is just one study but there are several.

Not artificial sweeteners in general... specifically sucralose was tested. Numerous studies have shown it produces an insulin response.

Also, there are a variety of natural alternative sweeteners available now that don't produce an insulin response and have low or no calories, such as stevia, monk fruit extract and allulose. Erithritol as well, though it may have a few drawbacks.

Same first hard drive I bought! Crazy we both remembered the model number too. Got mine in 1990 so not $800 I don't believe, but regardless it was all I could afford after buying the 8087 math coprocessor too!

That used to be true but no longer. For anything but gaming Apple's M series chips are amazing.

I'm a 30+ year Windows and Linux user and developer that preferred machines I could build myself. A few years ago switched jobs and was given an M1 Pro for work... it's incredible how good, fast and low power the M series are. I've used my laptop 8 hours straight without plugging it in. That's simply not doable with any other machine.

I still dislike their walled garden, and for high end gaming Apple's a no-go, but for most things it's hard to argue with how good they are. The machines may come at a premium, but they are high quality, work great and for battery use they don't have a rival.

In theory the unique id produced by the scan could be salted by you, uniquely for each website or application, and then provided to the site. This would keep aggregators from being able to track all your activity, or at least it would if they didn't already have fingerprinting techniques that do it without the need of another unique identifier.

Problem is they aren't required to prove it to you - some witness - unless it's your child that's involved, and they can take their sweet time providing proof to the person being detained as well, waiting until they've already thrown you to the ground and cuffed you.

A face can be seen, recognized and recorded from a distance. Video doesn't usually do any good with badges and other identification but cops and criminals both - or one and the same - risk being identified if they don't have masks.

Lots of dogs can pose a bite risk but pit bulls pose a rather unique mauling risk. It's not just a bite but a frenzied attack that doesn't stop until someone is dead. This is what the dogs were bred for and it's what we get almost uniquely from the breed.

It's not just because they'd big and strong... lots of breeds and big and could kill if they attacked relentlessly, but even when agitated and angry it almost never happens, except for pit bulls. They pose a unique risk for viscous attacks.
