Worst hangover I ever had, I was 20 and spent an entire May day working with my brother scraping and painting a small shed, and replacing the shingles. Took us about ten hours give or take. We had an occasional beer but nothing crazy.

Once done we each polished off about ten Labatt 50s while we watched hockey, then went out to meet friends. Got home at about 2 am.

Woke up the next day like someone had driven a spike through my head and was drumming the ends that stuck out with steel rods.

I was screwed for about 36 hours. Realized as I was recovering that I hadn't had a drop of water all that day, just stopped working to sip on a cold beer every once in a while.

Lesson fucking learned. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

I didn't say they controlled the house, I described what they do when they control the house.

Do pay attention to the complexities of the English language, it's really worth it :-P

The most confusing thing to me is how Democrats can have majorities in the House and POTUS and their agenda gets inched along but the second Republicans have that their agenda gets rammed through asap.

Is that a misconception? It certainly seems that Republicans make much more aggressive and active use of their power.

I had an argument with someone about the nature of motivation within a capitalist system. Specifically related to people who find their motivations in non-monetary ends such as personal pride, the greater good, morality, etc. He said that those people were rubes, but I countered that surely those people were suckers. We still haven't resolved...

I think the doom is real, but we're all looking at it through 6" x 3" magnifying glasses that condense all the shit into one giant nugget, and then the easy thing is to comment on that nugget because, well it's right there, and last winter was unseasonably warm and there were some pretty catastrophic wildfires, and the ocean is doing weird shit, and it's easy to think that that's all there is, but you can still take a walk in the woods on a sunny day, and say hi to some people, and maybe make a friend.

It's such a dumb rule. Tape is tape, are they afraid the goalies won't see the puck?

Ironic that there's a grammatical error in the headline... 6th-grade levels, surely

As a temporarily embarrassed billionaire myself, I have reservations about this
