What about Moccha?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 15 hours ago

Zorin for sure. Set up like a couple months ago, fiddled with some settings since I'm new to Linux for a couple days and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

That makes sense, thanks!

Excellent passage. Thank you for sharing. I think a lot of us can relate to this.

Why though? What is the purpose of avoiding the filters? Are there shadow-bans based on keywords on Lemmy? There might be something I'm missing, but I only see this as a way to inconvenience people who use filters.

Seconding KeePassXC. Has good browser integration too.

Why do people avoid using the word Microsoft? It's annoying when you use filters and people just circumvent them.

I'd like to hear the reasoning behind this list.

I was wondering, which country's exit nodes (VPN) do you use and why? Are some countries better than others (in terms of jurisdiction and laws, not latency)?

It'll probably be more useful to try and revitalise some of the other christian lemmy communities. Thank you for being understanding, though.

Well, no. Religion is nothing without faith. You have to be personally called to that faith in order to be able to explain things to yourself in a religious manner. I'll recommend this video, though.

I think you're mixing up primitive mysticisms and the modern variants of religion. There are, actually, some things both science and christianity struggle to explain. Of course, both say they do, but a fool-proof argument isn't readily available. If you're open to it, approaching the fine-tuning argument from both the atheist and theistic perspectives is extremely interesting. Both have very good points.

I'm trying to read some more books (canon) set in the Metro universe. The books don't have to be written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, I'm just looking for some recommendations to expand my knowledge of the lore. Bonus points for chronological ordering! Ty

For the past few weeks I haven't gotten any videos in a resolution higher than 480p. Anyone experiencing the same?

Hi all,

I haven't used Discord in a while, but it became so that now I have to use it for communication with certain people getting support for some services that I use. What I'm doing currently is:

  • using a separate randomised e-mail address only for the Discord account
  • using a randomly generated username
  • no profile picture
  • tweaking the settings as best I can for privacy

Other than these points, I'm also being wary of talking about anything personal on Discord. Would you add anything so I can be even safer when using Discord?

I want to hear your opinions on the technical changes of the new Notesnook update.

I wonder what my fellow lemmygoers think about the new Notesnook updates, privacy and security-wise.

Hi all,

I've switched to Linux only recently, and am very sad that I had to abandon WinCompose. For those who don't know, it is a taskbar application which allows you to toggle "compose-mode" with your R-Alt key and then combine multiple keystrokes to create special characters in an intuitive way. For example, Alt -> U -> "-" becomes Ū. Is there an alternative to this for Linux? I'm on Zorin OS 17.1 Core, specifically. To clarify, I'm not looking for a symbol table add-on. I'm looking for something that I can utilise with only my keyboard.

Thanks in advance!

I've been using AVG's Alarm Clock Extreme and am looking to make the switch to a libre option. Any recommendations? The more customization options, the better. I go crazy with my alarm optimization.

I'm creating shortcuts for Syncthing, when I noticed this: Is there supposed to be a "~" after the folder name?

Hi all,

I was wondering whether anyone uses KeePassXC with the Firefox browser add-on on Zorin OS. I can't get the browser add-on to recognize the app. I spent a better part of yesterday trying to figure out a solution but just can't seem to get it to work. Any help?
