With gentoo and arch you are learning how linux works. Replace nixos with salt or ansible and it can even get you a job.

There are hospitals running on SAP systems. Those servers will be 99% linux based. The rest are managed by crazy people.

Everything has it to some degree. More important is:

  1. is it using the compromised version?
  2. Is ssh package using sysytemd-notify?
  3. Is ssh server service being open to the internet?

Kde has you covered. MOD + w by default and you can switch it in settings to MOD only.

You can even have hot corner like gnome does.
