If you think it would have panned out differently under Harris, I have a bridge to sell you. She would have not have had the influence to get Ukraine into NATO even if she wanted to, what is she going to do? Kick out Hungary? The only thing Trump has done that Harris wouldn't have is this minerals for protection deal. The US was never an honest ally to Ukraine, they were only interested in offloading weapons onto them and bogging down Russia, they were never prepared to help in a way that would actually lead to Ukraine getting it's lost territory back. Ukraine should have never given up their nukes, promises are only words, they never should have trusted western countries promising them security to begin with, Ukraine having nukes might be the only scenario where an independent Ukraine doesn't end up losing territory to Russia.

Don't worry too much, there will be at least a few hundred years of whatever military junta will takeover when things get too far out of control.
I assuming you're not American if you're asking this you can basically get arrested for anything here, especially if you're holding a Palestinian flag. They arrested a lot of student protestors for a lot less.

Wildlife traffickers pleaded guilty this week in federal court in California to illegally importing endangered sea cucumbers — which are prized in China for food and medicine and as a reputed aphrodisiac.
That's true, but barn cats are cats that are more likely to be fed scraps and raw food to begin with. Most people with pet cats are just feeding them cat food. Obviously some people are doing this as it is discussed in the article, but, Bird flu is primed to be the next covid with how unseriously it's being taken right now, especially by poultry/egg farmers.
One can hope that farmers with barn cats will actually do that, but they probably won't.
Yeah, I think it's very deceptive in how it markets itself. I think the only reason you see it so much in sites like lemmy and reddit is it went viral during the 2016 US election, where discussions of "fake news" and media bias really took off for the first time and people have just been trusting it ever since.
I'm only pointing out he's trained as a physical therapist to highlight that he is not trained in a field relevant to this whatsoever, you can be a critical thinker without being a journalist or going to college, but this person just decided they would be the arbiter of what media bias was in the 2016 US election and has just run with it. Most people do not realize this is just some guy's opinions, if it was named "David Van Zandt's blog on media bias" people would probably trust it less than naming it "MediaBiasFactCheck" which makes it sound like it's not just the opinions of one random dude.
Press TV is Iranian state media, I don't think you should either implictly trust what they are reporting or implictly distrust what they are reporting, you have to look at what is being claimed in an article by article basis and decide whether what they are saying is well sourced and seems accurate. You shouldn't just "trust the site" for any news source in general, that is the opposite of critical thinking.
Grassroots organizations aren't giving them giant slush funds of cash for their election campaigns or offering them 6 or 7 figure salary jobs after they leave office so what good are they?
