It's subjective of course. Some people choose to believe that disabilities are bad, and can be used as an insult.

I choose to believe that abled and disabled people are equal, that belief is a core tenent of my value system, and I will lecture on it regardless of how it makes you feel.

You don't really want to encourage the idea that disabled = bad, and you can use it as an insult. It's still racist to insult a white person with the n-word, because even if it's not offensive to them, it carries on the cultural attitude that black people are inferior. The idea is to foster a culture that is inclusive to disabled people.

It's very possible to offer constructive criticism without having been offended.

There's plenty of correct ways to criticize them, you don't need to resort to ableist slurs my dude. We can be better than that.

Be disappointed, because many of them are real people.

Problem: group messaging

Smart solution: private lean messaging app

Stupid solution: a bloated social media app that will still fingerprint and track you and feed your data back even on a burner account

They’re likely all thinking you’re the odd man out

Blah blah friends jumping off a bridge.

Liberalism is a capitalist ideology that promotes private ownership of the means of production

Absolutely false. It espouses private ownership. This can mean your own clothes, your own phone, your own computer, your own house, your own sentimental belongings, instead of everything being communally shared.

It is possible for the means of production, like factories, to be communally owned, while still allowing for small personal private ownership. You can strike a balance between liberalism and private ownership, and communism and communal ownership.

It's not a black and white binary choices between "everything is private" and "everything is communal".

I don't go through people's comment histories to try to validate them.

And there's a shocking overlap in vernacular and memes between tankies and alt-right. Obviously they're diametrically opposed on almost all issues. BUT neither really believe in good faith discussion, it's mostly trolling and "dunking". Mix in sarcasm that's not obvious to an outsider, and the jokes are hard to tell apart from misinformation or "muddying the water".

It's way more present since Hexbear federated in, every first impression is that it's an alt-right troll farm. After some interaction it gets clear quickly that it isn't.

Just expect us normies to have that first impression.

Russian likes to threaten the world with nukes - nuclear war would inevitably lead to a nuclear holocaust that would cause the near extinction of the human species.

I don't give a flying fuck about Azerbaijan. Russia is terrorizing the entire species of humanity. Until you're threatening to wipe out the entire planet, you are not a terrorist on the same level as Russia.

Suppose we have a human extinction, and intelligent life develops all over. All religion will be gone or very different, but science will continue to make the same discoveries all over again.

Someone else compared being gay to being racist, and now you're comparing being gay to sexual assault.

These are disingenuous comparisons at best, dangerously homophobic at worst.

What you described was not the actual outcome of the ruling.

The wedding website designer did not give them a website with no mention of being gay, that they could fill in themselves. The website designer was allowed to fully refuse them any kind of website at all. Just like refusing a blank wedding cake because the couple is gay.

The justification of the decision was not in good faith. It stepped away over the bounds of protecting against compelled speech. And they deserve to feel the consequences.
