Beating the first Baldur's Gate after numerous (hundreds?) attempts over the years when I was 19-ish (ca. 2009). I recall actually tearing up quite heavily 😂. Even after all these years, still my absolute favourite game for replay (when I get the chance!).

As a kid, I thought this was meant to test your sound system for the movie (aka lone CRT) and would blast it as loud as I could.
...and from a single meme we see the great divide between Gen X/Millenials and Gen Z. Poor Toto!
Best version by far -it's almost like Tolkien reading it himself!
As awesome as it is that they even entertained the idea of female firefighters...how ridiculous is it that they were more concerned with fashion rather than function...
Totally agree, it's wild, just wanted to give some perspective from the other side 😊
After all that school, I hear you 😅. But physicians in Canada, for instance, make substantially less than our friends to the south...for some specialties, even getting to $200,000 doesn't mean much when you have so much debt, fees, and other business costs. It makes a difference given the huge need for physicians all around...such a sacrifice on so many levels with little payoff untill so much later. Couldn't imagine the impact a donation like this would have anywhere, let alone Canada.
I get the hate, but as someone with some experience here, the amount of debt from a normal BA/BSc is miniscule compared to med school...like doesn't even come remotely close. The amount of time spent paying that back for someone that doesn't come from wealth is sometimes longer than they live...
Yes! So glad someone else though of this 😎
These just keep getting better and better
I'm on Lemmy.ml and am anything but a "tankie". Love it here. Tonnes of tech/varied posts in my main subscribed feed and I've never noticed anything other than a minimal dose of drama...Facebook or Reddit are much more toxic in comparison which is part of the reason I left those places.
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2...the exploration of the wilds while so vulnerable in the first game is something I'll never get bored of while the second game just takes it to a whole other level with your power growing so immense. They still totally hold up with the extended editions!
