Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

Bad muzak I can handle. It's when they interrupt it every ten seconds to remind you that there's still the same number of people ahead of you that really gets my goat. And I need that goat!
Did you know that you can use service X online? Just go to ...
10 seconds of horrible music in even worse audio quality

On a phoneline service that I have to call about twice a month, you also get a frequent click and a second-long pause in the music, that makes you think you’ve connected to an operator. Given how the service is outright malicious to its users, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was hard coded into the system to keep callers on edge.
Bonus points if it has 10 times the volume of the person you'll eventually speak to.
Honestly, I would maybe actually fill out the customer feedback survey if I got a little live concert
Sometimes that music is going harder than it has any right to though! I honestly love a lot of that shit nowadays, vaporwave brought my childhood back in a strangely welcome fashion
I've heard if there's music you're on hold. If it's silent then you're on mute.
My favorite call center experience was me, three of my friends, and my youth group leader calling some company and being sent to voicemail because it was after hours. He kept calling back, trying to get a real person but it was just the same "for customer support, press 1" bullshit.
Our leader started talking smack about the company while navigating the option tree of pre-recorded options and a janitor picked up the phone and revealed that all calls are broadcasted into the office, even before you reach the point where you actually leave a recorded message. Because the janitor was the only one there, he could hear our leader badmouthing the company from across the room.
There's no way this happened.
and a janitor picked up the phone
True boss picked up.
I was given some advice a while back to always keep your phone on mute when going through the keypad directory. Many countries don't have many restrictions on recording calls so companies record everything that is permissible.
This is indeed true for most, but not all call centers.
Don't give up the dream, cause soon enough...
Is that John Hamm?
Edit: Never mind, that is in fact Sergio. I stand corrected.
I never knew I needed to see Jon Hamm play the sax until now...
I'm holding out for the Hamm(ond) organ
Now I'll feel bad every time I say something negative about the hold music.
