/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ **8. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Benedict Cumberbatch did alright. But he was also a terrible Khan.

Realistically, what possible role could he take that topped that?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Not much, but he did have a very good career.

Hey! He was also in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!

Seriously though, I'm guessing he would consider it to be one of his top roles. I know he was very proud of how in shape he go to do it (that really was his chest despite the rumors).

What's awesome was he still kept getting voice-over roles once he was confined to a wheelchair for the last years of his life.

His pecs are legitimately glorious.

Must have been because of his rich, leathery tone*

*I know that the original commercial was “soft Corinthian leather”

In a better time line, he played Raul Julia's grandfather in an Addam's Family movie.

Thankfully, the truth is actually the opposite. He was worried his career was basically over since he was expecting to just be typecast as Mr. Roarke and then TWOK came along and he realized that people remembered him as an actor in other things. He still had another couple of years on Fantasy Island, but it was a total game change for him.

He also opened up a theater (as in stage plays, not films) in Hollywood.

Yep. He had a legitimately amazing career. I guess the excuse here is "it's just a joke!"

No worries, I knew it was a joke. I just wanted to give the real story because I've always loved Ricardo Montalban.
