A network of accounts on X using stolen and possibly AI-generated images coordinated to engage with accounts supportive of Israel

This discovery follows previous research by the DFRLab and other investigators which exposed a similar network of inauthentic pro-Israel accounts which became active on Facebook, Instagram, and X after the beginning of the war in Gaza.

Why are so many people still using this platform?

Just stumbled upon a 9-min video (Invidious link) about Twitter's brief history after Elon Musk's takeover. Maybe interesting.

Isn't it common knowledge that there is an Iranian state-sposored social media campaign doing the exact same thing for the other side?

Social Media is the best thing that has ever happened for Iran, Russia, & China in terms of expanding the reach of propaganda.

Could you please share a link supporting your claim that doesn't come from a zionist propaganda machine?

Unfortunately, these are just articles that claim stuff, they do not include any actual and/or current researches. This is why they use terms like "trusted source", or urge the reader to worry about something, instead of providing evidence and let the reader decide how to feel about these findings.

Also, they come from the mouthpieces that Zionist propaganda uses. Remember the debunked beheaded babies claims, or the weaponization of sexual violence claims, or the human shield claims - to name just a few that were covered by these media.

Still, thank you for taking the time.

If you don't trust...

  • The Associated Presss (citing US Intelligence),
  • CNN (citing Microsoft), and
  • NPR (citing "an Israeli watchdog group" -- okay, I'll give you this one),

...then who do you trust?

It almost sounds like you're brushing off any media report as "a mouthpiece", and only believing random anonymous posts on the Internet.

I assume everything is bots, so I only check out streamers, youtubers, and artists on Twitter. It was bad before the Musk takeover but now it's borderline unusable lol

I worry the day Lemmy becomes inundated by Russian bots and..., oh hey Hexbear and ml, what are you doing here? Promoting genocide again?

Sorry I got distracted.

Makes sense, although sadly for real people in person, the elder you look the more likely they are to be pro-Israel. If I'm lucky, the person I'm interacting with recognizes that Hamas are not the people of Palestine, and even then it's a dicey conversation.

This has been my experience in Oregon at an elder care facility, at least.
