It only gets better (Except for A Mathematically Perfect Redemption). I will warn you the early part of season 1 is probably carried by reference humor, whereas the rest of the series begins to hold up on its own in addition to the quality reference humor.
Yeah, thank God I know a bit about Star Trek. For what it's worth, I have seen the 2009 movie and the Black Mirror Star Trek episode so I know a bit to get the references (Plus they've got Romulan whiskey! It's not green though)

I'm excited for S5 but also sad it's the last one. I usually wait for most of the season to air before binge watching them all, but I'll probably watch as they're released so I can savor them.
