The problem is trying to reduce all opinions to a single dimension.
It should at least be 3: social freedoms, economic freedoms, authority structure.
Though even that would be an oversimplification.

Damn leftists! They ruined leftland!
That's the part they don't get, we value debate. They can't wrap their mind around us disagreeing on stuff
Except for Leninists.
I remember when the right were the debate bros up to the later phases of gamergate - it was all "facts don't care about your feelings" until people started pointing out the facts... It was about that time that the right went from questionably sane arseholes to full blown conspiracist mental illness.
"And so I said to him, 'DIE YOU CAPITALIST PIG!' and shoved him off ð bridge!"
Old but good, and true. It's a good thing the right is so batshit crazy right now, it's the only thing holding us together.
is 2020 old now?
Positively geriatric in the lifespan of memes and social media posts.
A few of the dumbest people I know are leftists, the rest are right wing zealots.
There's a 19th century British politician who made a great quote about that, something along the lines of "I do not say most conservatives are stupid people, but most stupid people are certainly conservatives."
