Might be a little pissed right now. Met up with family friends who I hadn't seen for ages. Was nice. I feel like I overshared but they did ask probing questions. Oh well.

Fun list of sayings I have heard tonight:

  • It is what it is
  • You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink
  • everything happens for a reason

Blood is thicker than water.

It is what it is

Fat cat has decided that my feet are tonight's headrest.

Looks like I'm sleeping on the couch.

RIP πŸͺ¦ my back I guess.

Tomorrow I'm going to slather on the calamine lotion and take the family to the latest Lucha Fantastica wrestling event. It's the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. Can't wait to go! I buy the tickets pre release so they cost very little, and we go out for lunch before the event. It's our little family outing every 2-3 months and I look forward to it for weeks (usually it's me and the kids going out, or Mr P and the kids, like a divorce lol).

Once upon a time if I felt this shit I’d go online and more or less download a Fuck. Meh.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

converse with cat. It’s slightly better than Meh because they look at you like like you’re an idiot.

and then you come to the realisation that you are, because you’re talking to a cat.

and we all have a laugh and feel better for about 5 minutes

I talk to Gibson often. She's a great listener, especially when I'm feeling a bit down and out 🐱

Sometimes you just need to speak, or be heard.

I talk to Bill and Ted all the time and they talk to me. They meow or make other cat noises, if they talked in human then I'd be worried, otherwise, not worried at all.

I'm going to show a little vulnerability here and say that Gibson has absolutely kept me sane and getting out of bed at times.

She's my only family, and I feel lucky she's around.

Little symmetrical fluff ball has no idea how much she matters to me.

Uh sorry mate I didn’t mean you, in particular, were an idiot. I find cats to be condescending at times.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

All good man. I don't think you were referring to me. I know the feeling though lol

Air Supply is underrated. I can hear any song, from any room and I'm there singing my guts out.

CEO you are every woman in the world, to meee

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

You're my fantasy. You're my reality.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Love and Other Bruises does this for me every time. Still one of my favourite songs.

Russell Hitchcock was a Melburnian and Air Supply was formed here.

Have learned something that MUST be shared. Not only is it National Pasta Day, but National Champagne Day!! (not to be confused with International Champagne Day, which is 31st December). This one is declared by the Champagne Bureau. I might need to celebrate - just had carbonara for dinner!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Excellent πŸ‘Œ did not have champagne but did eat pasta and drink Italian wine with good friends tonight.

Are you, too, ashamed of the disaster in your under-sink cupboards?

Edit: OK I did a big purge in the kitchen cupboard. I need some more containers for the bathroom cupboard though... maybe some other day...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's not enough room in mine, it's full of convoluted drainpipe.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have some shelves that work really well for that problem. I liked how they worked in the kitchen so much I bought some for the bathroom too.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Hey those shelves are really nifty! But my cupboard is tiny and already has a built in shelf. Luckily I don't store much in there, mostly dishwashing items, carpet cleaner and oven cleaner.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Not exactly, but the cat biscuits live there so semi tidy is required

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Nope. Mine is clean , organised and tidy

I do have to tidy the cupboard with all the things, mostly clothes, I've been buying miss seagoon

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

All good in the kitchen. The bathroom is clogged with teenage shit though. I try not to look because steam comes out of my nostrils.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I only recently cleared it out after 3 years when tidying up for my place being inspected. Cathartic. Driven by anger as well though
