The first time I heard Bowinn Ma's name, it was in relation to basically flirting (implied sleeping) her way up the political chain. I think she was even flirting heavily with a married liberal politician (her opposition, then the party in power) to get insider details on what the other party was up to -- pretty sure one of the guys was rich coleman. A dude who was like two or three times her age, and overtly corrupt (he's the guy who had a special investigator team of anti-money launderer dudes come to him and say "stuffs getting laundered like crazy in BC!", and his response was to dissolve that team and ignore it).

It's like she was intentionally flirting with Jabba the Hut. Or purposely trying to get Harvey Weinstein alone in a hotel room cause you know if you fuck him he'll give you a movie role. I really can't take her seriously as a politician or in any leadership position.

I wonder how the amount of death threats government officials receive has changed over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been going up.

Edit: typo

It's become so much easier. You can do it in a minute from the toilet, before you had to buy postage.

Although I think a death threat through post is much more threatening than online. It's easy to find an email or even phone number online, a little harder to find someone's home address, and shows that the person might be more serious about it.

So while the amount of death threats may have risen, I'm not sure if the amount of credible death threats has changed as much.

Absolutely no doubt it has gone up.

Especially among women, I would think, where extreme misogyny and online hate and harassment campaigns target them without any fear or consequence.
