I honestly don't remember why we ruled out liberapay when we originally set up donations, and I don't think anyone else does either. Opencollective wasn't a good fit because they didn't have any good fiscal hosts in Canada, but I don't see any obvious issues with liberapay.
We can take another look at this I think, but we've all been pretty busy lately so might take us a bit.

Thanks in advance, it's a stretch goal. :) It's possible in the past when reviewed, Liberapay was in a different spot technically and wasn't a good fit due to (lack of) features or platform onboarding for organizations or whatnot. I'm not an active dev, but their discussions are public which may help the admin team review historical progress.
In principle, I don't have a problem with this idea. Being Canadian, I already have a no-fee option with almost no administrative burden, which leads to my big question. What is the administrative burden for supporting our European members with a no-fee option? The lower that burden versus the number of European members we have, the more likely they are to implement it. I leave that for our administrators to judge, given they are more or less volunteers and the burden for supporting this falls on them.
