Regarding spoilers; Please put "(Spoilers)" in the title of your post if you anticipate spoilers, as we do not currently have a spoiler tag available. If your post contains an image that could be considered a spoiler, please mark the thread as NSFW so the image gets blurred. As far as how long to wait until the post is no longer a spoiler, please just use your best judgement. Everyone has a different idea on this, so we don't want to make any hard limits.
Please use spoiler tags whenever commenting a spoiler in a non-spoiler thread. Most of the Lemmy clients don't support this but we want to get into the habit as clients will be supporting in the future.

What sport is that?
Fascist hunting
Ocean's Eleven
Comedic Baseball: the Sandlot, Major League
Romantic baseball: For Love Of The Game
Baseball baseball: Moneyball
Historic baseball: A League Of Their Own
There is crying in baseball: Field of Dreams
Lagaan is great if you don't mind subtitles
"Who own de Chiefs?"
OWNS. OWNS.
You already named my favorite sports movie: Slap Shot.
The Wrestler is my other pick that I haven't seen yet in this thread
Dodgeball - a true underdog story
Warrior for MMA. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure because it hits all of my traditional masculine buttons. Redemption, making dad proud, making wife proud, showing your brother you actually love him, fist fights, etc.
Miracle - hockey Senna - F1 Faster (series) - MotoGP
Wind and Master and Commander for sailing. And maybe some Pirates of the Caribbean too :)
I haven’t watched Maiden yet, definitely this winter sometime.
Moneyball
Space Jam.
Goon and Goon 2
Teenwolf.
Caddyshack. Happy Gilmore a close second.
Bend it Like Beckham, or Victory.
Edit: Bad News Bears or Major League.
Moneyball
Live action: Major League 2 had a streak of getting played on TV, so it's probably the one I've seen bits of the most, followed by Rudy for the same reason.
Animated: Cars.
I don't watch many sports now but watched these movies a ton as a kid:
the rookie - baseball
the air up there - basketball
caddyshack - golf
kingpin - bowling (the big Lebowski is my favorite movie of all time, but I don't really consider it a "bowling" movie)
the wizard - competitive gaming
cool runnings - bobsledding
the big green - soccer
The replacements
The Natural
Happy Gilmore
Dodgeball
Ted Lasso
Play it to the Bone
Warrior
Bloodsport
North Shore
The Waterboy
Gran Prix
The Karate Kid
Semi Pro
Baseketball, Dodgeball, Happy Gilmore, and The Big Lebowski (I don't watch sports)
The only sport I actually watch is Drifting. I have never seen a good drifting movie.
I do enjoy The Big Lebowski for bowling, and Cool Runnings for bobsled
For Golf, Happy Gilmore! If you haven’t seen it yet, you can do it!
Yes that or Tin Cup (1996). Apparently peak year for golf movies. Legend of Baggar Vance (2000) was a few years later. There was a tiny window for mainstream golf movies.
Baseketball.
The only other one about a real sport I've watched multiple times and is a sport I actually like would be The Mighty Ducks.
Hijacking this thread to ask if there’s any good rugby movies besides Invictus
