The clapback:

We have received notice of this lawsuit and will begin the appropriate legal proceedings and investigations into the claims of patent infringement.

At this moment, we are unaware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing upon, and we have not been notified of such details.

Patent rights? You gotta be kidding me. The hell did they patent? Throwing a ball?

Almost literally. They patented:

  • catching characters in thrown balls

  • calling on characters by throwing a ball

  • using captured characters to fight and harvest resources

@nonprofitparrot, if you have the links to the patents at hand, it would be grand if you can share them.

Scroll past the nintendo switch. https://imgur.com/gallery/pokemons-patent-vs-palworld-jp-7398425-b-zFDuKSc

To be clear, no official source has released these patents as definitively relevant to this case. But they sure look relevant.

Apparently, in their LONG list of patents, is one for the in-game Pokemon Storage Box. Just speculation, of course, but that could be one the Pokemon Company cites.

Nintendo can suck a dick with their shovelware games

Should be thrown out, they had more than enough time to react, it wasn't an unknown project but waited until the hype died down, and the money was generated.

It's almost like Nintendo wanted to make as much money as possible in court.

This statement is so stupid, that i’m actually impressed it was written down to begin with

That's not how patent law works.
