in my defense, i did not know what a snow leopard was and thought it was white like a polar bear
I see the big white snow goat though.
I thought the point was the whole thing was actually tiny, just a handful of snow and small isicles. Then I saw the leopard.
Protip: Snow-leopard is not white
Dirt leopard
Maybe I could see it if you jpeged it further?
I honestly think it helps with this one
https://content.api.news/v3/images/bin/0b31d94e3bff7d6804274d24562f62cd?width=1024
From https://www.escape.com.au/news/snow-leopard-perfectly-camouflaged-in-mountain-terrain-baffles-the-internet/news-story/bcc5e99d35292787175a13f489ebd7aa. Brought to you by reporters copying things of reddit, but at least escape didn't butcher the image, unlike boredpanda.
The photographer's website wouldn't load for me, so I don't know if it has a better quality available.
Thanks!!! :) I'm also really curious if people are using newer monitors as I upcycle most of mine and can't really tell. It just looks a little jpeged but not the worst. My eyes are starting to go though haha.
I nearly always scroll lemmy on my phone, so when I can't find the Waldo right away, I zoom in and start panning around. But with this find Waldo picture, I can actually spot the leopard easier when not zoomed in. It just pops out for me, my cat has probably trained me too well.
I think the issue with the boredpanda picture is that the original photo was already fuzzy (long distance shot I think) and a compressed jpeg. Someone at boredpanda then cut out a too small part of that and jpeg compressed it a 2nd time, giving the leopard additional dazzle camouflage on top of it's natural camouflage.
Ah yes, I see, I didn't zoom in but they used to be my favourite exhibit at the zoo I went to a lot as a kid so I know what to look for! :)
You have died
ops ur ded
I am blind where is it?
Op is trolling with the red circle. Look just above it. It's only the leopard's head.
I'm super fun at parties guys I swear
I found il later, but its not only its head, but its lying down with body on left
Oh you're probably right but needs more jpeg
ENHANCE
I have a visual of the murderer's face in the reflection from the leopard's eyeball!
Come on.... Don't mislead them. Why are you trolling like this. Just look at where the clock handle at 8 will be.
Yo thas crazy!
I love you.
That's literally the funniest thing I've seen all week on Lemmy.
I've seen this picture a couple of times, and I remember where he is. Easy, he's... uh... errr...
Damn.
Is the snow leopard a scientician?
no, it's a statistist
In my defense, my pattern recognition works a lot better with depth perception and movement
With ambush predators, perceiving them by movement is usually too late.
Or more than 2 PPI
It’s just a snow leopard, you don’t need to censor it with all that blur.
You may want to use a higher resolution image if you want to demonstrate this effectively
Didn't see it for a good while and was thinking that this was some commentary on why hardly any snow leopards are around anymore because of mass extinctions, habitat loss and climate change...
