I've heard it said, lawyers and police create criminals, doctors create sick people, politicians create corruption.

Don't know how true a sentiment that is, but I can see some true aspects to it.

It's only anecdotal, but it seems to me whenever the cops show up it gets worse.

Pure ignorance helped a lot.

There's little to no British content on BBC America.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Your not missing much. Last time I looked at it there wasn't much more than reality and chat blocks aka cheap lower common denominator stuff

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

That's odd, I didn't know that.

No Turner on the Turner Broadcasting System (TBS)

There's no Nick's on Nickelodeon.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Nick Cannon used to have a show on Nickelodeon

If you watch enough shows, they'll eventually be nickelodeons on average.

Yes, they have people I don't know trying to sell me things I don't want and can't afford just so some bigwig could buy a second yacht.

There is no Mötorhead on Lemmy

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

Its all simple minded commercial fodder. Geared to hold the attention of the slow witted emotion driven masses long enough to throw ads down their psychological throats

There is no democracy in a democratic country.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 4 months ago

The Democratic party is running a candidate without a primary.

I remember when The Learning Channel had learning on it. Now watching it actively depletes your intellect.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Remember flipping through the channels and stopping on TLC, what's that? Oh just some open testicle surgery. Ugh

Reminds of an observation my dad made once about how neighborhoods are named after what had to cleared away to build there. Oakwoods. Rolling hills. Pleasent view. Etc etc

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago
